On our second day in Disneyland, we got to have breakfast with Mickey Mouse! We were all excited to see how Jack would react since he loves Mickey Mouse, but some kids are afraid of the characters.
That morning, we got ready and walked to the Paradise Pier hotel.
The woman with whom we checked in was from Romania, so Mike got to talk to her a little in Romanian. Lauren was really excited to hear him speak to someone in another language.

Grandpa took Jack in the breakfast room before our table was ready. Mickey Mouse was on his way to take a break and we walked right passed Jack and Grandpa. When Jack saw Mickey Mouse, his face lit up and he said, "Mi Mou". Then he tried to follow Mickey into the break room.
After we were seated, we saw Stitch and Pluto. Jack didn't know what to think of Stitch, but he liked Pluto. We all dished up some breakfast while we waited for Mickey Mouse to come back out.
When he did, Aunt Lauren took Jack to see him. Jack walked around Mickey while another little boy visited him. Then, when the other boy was done, Jack got closer. Mickey tried to give Jack a hug. At first Jack wouldn't, but with some help from Mommy he hugged Mickey. After that we got a family picture with Mickey. (We didn't buy it because Mike's eyes were closed.)

When we finally got Jack to eat some breakfast, he ate spoonfuls of syrup.

After awhile, Mickey came back out. Jack and I got our picture with him.
Then Jack tried, and fell on his face. Mickey felt bad, but Jack was fine and wanted to try again. So Mickey and Jack tried again.
For awhile Jack used my hand to practice stepping off the step. Then he started to do it on his own. Mickey was very supportive and cheered for him.

Jack got to play with Mickey for about 5 minutes all by himself. Mickey started to walk away once, but Jack called him back. Since no one else was there to get a picture, Mickey came back to play.
I thought the experience was pretty neat. How many kids can say Mickey Mouse taught them how to jump down a step?
After breakfast, Santa Clause was in the hotel lobby. We took Jack to see Santa. He was more afraid of Santa than he was of Mickey.

After that, we walked to Disneyland for another fun-filled day.

One of our favorite rides is Haunted Mansion. Lauren has a tradition of sneaking popcorn onto the ride. Jack liked this tradition.

Lauren and Jack were roommates during our trip. Lauren was really excited for this. She was an angel and got up with him in the middle of the night. Even though he usually woke me up, I was able to go back to sleep because I knew Lauren was taking care of Jack. She also watched him one afternoon so Mike and I could have a nap. It was wonderful.
While Mike and Grandpa went on Splash Mountain, Lauren and I waited in line to see Winnie the Pooh.

We first got to see Rabbit. Jack wasn't so sure of him.
He tried to walk right passed Rabbit to go see Winnie the Pooh.
I stopped him and we got a picture. Then Jack discovered Rabbit is soft. He liked him after that.
Jack waved good-bye...
...and even gave Rabbit a fist bump.
Jack was pretty excited to see Winnie the Pooh.
Apparently nobody can resist Jack's charm. Even though there was a line of kids waiting to see Pooh, when Jack wanted to show him the Christmas tree, Pooh followed.
Jack showed Pooh several ornaments on the tree.
| I LOVE this picture! Jack and Pooh Bear looking right at each other in front of the Christmas tree. If we did Christmas cards, this would be the picture I'd use. |
One of Jack's favorite rides was Winnie the Pooh. Every time it was over, he'd say, "More, more, more." Today, though, we couldn't just stay on the ride; we had to get back in line.
We went to California Adventure. Lauren took Jack to Little Mermaid while the rest of us went on Soarin' Over California.
Then we all went on the Ferris Wheel. Jack wasn't very happy that Mommy couldn't hold him because I was too busy holding on the the cage while we swung. Jack thought it was funny how scared Mommy and Aunt Lauren were.
We all rode The Little Mermaid ride next. When Mike and I rode this in June the line wrapped all around and even down the road. This trip, we walked right on.
On the ride you go down "under the sea" and there are bubbles. Jack made bubble noises with his tongue when we were at that part. Then, during "Kiss the Girl" he blew kisses. It was so cute.
We had to go on Toy Story Mania. Jack loves Toy Story. We saw Potato Head and Woody while we were in line.
| Jack playing with his 3-D glasses. |
The glasses were too big and didn't stay on Jack's face, but he had fun on the ride anyway.
It was hard for him to score on this ride because he was too small to reach the gun.
Mike got the highest score out of all of us.

We had a fun day seeing lots of Jack's favorite Disney characters.
