This Christmas was a lot of fun with Jack. He is now old enough to really enjoy toys and he is able to categorize "Christmas things". Whenever he sees something that has to do with Christmas such as Santa, a decoration, or reindeer he says, "Ho, ho, ho." It is so cute and fun. I think next year he will really be able to understand Santa and his magic. I look forward to that.
On Christmas Eve we went to Ephraim to spend Christmas with the Larsens. After dinner and presents from Grandma Doris at Aunt Sharon's house, we went back to Mom and Dad's to open sibling gifts and our presents from Mom and Dad. Lauren gave Jack a Toy Story blanket and a Cars ball pit, which he immediately loved. She was thrilled. Jenni gave Jack Freight Train. It's the perfect book for him because he loved trains and colors. Jack got two "Little David" shirts and two Toy Story Potato Heads that can be turned into Buzz, Woody, Jessie, or Mr. Potato Head from Grandma and Grandpa. He also got to open his Christmas Eve present: Buzz Lightyear pajamas.
We got a Fisher-Price nativity set from Grandma and Grandpa Pat and Reg.
Mike got his dad's old record player and a stack of old records. He has been soooo excited about it. Rob gave him a gift card to Amazon music.
I got a medicine cabinet and towel hanger for the bathroom, snow boots (my first pair ever), and lots of clothes from Mom and Dad. Lauren gave me some cute slippers and good smelling bath and body spray stuff.
Poor Lauren was on pain killers because she had hip surgery the day before. She was so sad she couldn't run around and play with Jack. Jenni was happy to get a lot of aunt time with him, though.
I will put pictures here of Christmas Eve when I get them from Mike's phone.
On Chrismas morning, I woke up at 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep, so I cleaned the kitchen and played a video game. (Mike thought that we should tell our kids if they get up too early on Christmas morning they have to clean until it's time for Mom and Dad to wake up.) Jack finally woke up at about 7:00. We woke up Daddy and went into the front room to see what Santa had brought. At first, Jack just wanted to play with his ball pit from Aunt Lauren. Then I helped him see his huge monkey from Santa. He really liked him and immediately named him George.

We all opened some wonderful presents from Santa and from each other. Mike got two seasons of Two and a Half Men, a PS3 game, a guitar stand, a Mickey Mouse hoodie, The A Team, and a sound system. I got a stand mixer, Harry Potter #8, a Dooney and Bourke purse, and tickets to see WICKED next August! Jack got six Cars pull-back and go cars, a bag to put them in, giant George, classic Winnie the Pooh books, My Book About Jesus, socks, a Toy Story shirt (that's probably the last time he'll be excited to get clothes for Christmas), Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Justice League and Superman cartoons, a new toothbrush, and a Jack mug.
The last present to be opened was for Jack from Mike and me. I was excited about this one. Jack was so cute when he opened it and saw what it was. He said, "Buzz!" It's so cute when he says it. It sounds more like "Buzsh".
Buzz has been Jack's favorite and goes almost everywhere with him.
Here's all of Jack's presents before we visited Grandma and Grandpa Davis:

After we opened presents and played for awhile, we had to get ready for church. Jack was tired, so Mike and I had to take turns going out in the hall with him. When we got home, we had a nice Christmas morning breakfast of blueberry muffins, sausage, bacon, eggs, and hot chocolate. David and Kim came by so we got to see them for a little while. Mike was very excited about the present he gave to David. He got him bacon-flavored gum balls, a book about using everyday things in extraordinary ways, a spy remote, and a real hand buzzer (Kim took it away almost immediately). Then we all got a nice nap before going to Grandma and Grandpa Davis' house.
We spent the rest of the day at Grandma and Grandpa's. Jack got a new church sweater and pants, a Curious George hoodie, soft pajamas, a Magna Doodle, and a Toy Story hide-and-seek tent from Grandma and Grandpa. Mom and Dad gave us two full place settings of our Christmas China, an etched glass casserole dish, a movie popcorn and M&M bucket, and A Christmas Carol. I also got a necklace and Mike got a new Sunday shirt. Mandy and Spencer gave us a collection of Curious George books and a gift card to the movie theater. We went with them to see Sherlock Holmes the next day.
Grandma got a train her grandkids can ride on. It took a little while, but Jack learned how to push his foot down and make it go. He loved playing on it. It was fun to get to see the whole Davis family on Christmas day.
